Direct sunlight is the enemy of everyone who takes pictures of round shiny beetles. The light is harsh. It reflects and whitens the picture pretty badly.  The colours become ugly instead of vibrant. Besided that the white spot distracts the attention. I usually avoid this problem by taking pictures in the shade or go out picture-taking when it is cloudy. However, there are always opportunities where the only option is taking a picture in direct sunlight, namely when one encounters a ladybug.
